Abstract

Within the framework of the Egyptian state’s strategy to try to develop local industry, reduce import burdens, and localize modern means and technologies of production, in various industrial fields in general and the field of medical furniture in particular, there is a need to study the necessary and critically required products in the field of medical furniture, on which patients and medical teams depend. Whether in hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, or patients residing in homes with different needs and pathological conditions, and trying to adapt these products to local conditions of use and the needs of the internal market, while matching them with the manufacturing capabilities available in the internal industrial market, Perhaps one of these products is medical patient lifts, on which both patients and caregivers rely on in carrying out the daily life tasks of the patient, such as self-care, feeding, bathing, changing clothes, personal hygiene, work, housekeeping, and rest, which share in these activities and tasks the urgent need to move and move easily. And flexible, and from that aspect, the role of the product of medical patient slings of different styles and types stands out to meet that need in carrying the patient and moving with him easily and without exposing him to the risks of injury during daily tasks while taking into account the least effort on the escorts or caregivers, so the Egyptian designers are responsible for the process Adapting the designs of patient lifts to suit the conditions and usage characteristics of the Egyptian social environment, In addition to trying to localize its industrial mechanisms to suit local capabilities and raw materials, in order to contribute to reducing import burdens on the local economy.
