Abstract

Modern lighting technology has made great progress in recent years, which has had an impact on the development of various lighting equipment and devices. Digital imaging technology for documentary films has also benefited from this development, as lighting is one of the basic elements in recording a moving digital image to produce a good documentary film in various forms. Documentary films are an important and powerful element in various societies, and because lighting plays an important role in the good formation of the image, the research will address the technology of modern lighting sources and devices, their various types, and how to use them correctly to obtain the desired shape. It will also display both the advantages and disadvantages of different light sources and the extent of their impact on the shape of the digital video for the documentary film, and identify the basics and main light standards and scientific characteristics of various light sources, thus identifying the correct rules that must be applied when using different lighting devices, and then the freedom to choose well the type, size and shape of the light source, whether it is one source or more, and the coordination between the various light sources in a way that suits the nature of the documentary film being filmed to achieve the desired artistic goal, and knowing the importance of using the light source that was used in a shot.
