Abstract

The digital revolution brought several developments that encompassed most fields, including the education sector. Several innovative methods emerged, employing modern technology to facilitate the educational process for teachers, attract learners' attention, and motivate them to learn in an enjoyable and engaging manner. Digital sculpture is one of the modern technologies that emerged in light of this development. The world today is witnessing tremendous technological development, as a result of which the role of various means of communication has increased, especially television channels, social networking sites, e-reading sites, and the ubiquitous digital information networks. These have captured the minds and interests of children, as YouTube, electronic games, and smartphone applications have become their daily favorites. This is among the reasons behind this estrangement between children and reading. Thus, it has become necessary to think about taking advantage of this strong attachment of the child to technology and linking it to the abandoned reading, by creating modern technologies that strengthen this link and seek to restore the status of reading by including it in education to raise the motivation of reading among the learner, which is what prompted us to work on the technology of digital stories as a solution and a means to encourage learners to read in light of this technological spread under the title “Digital Sculpture and Enhancing the Motivation for Reading in Children.”
