Abstract

This article explores the role of therapeutic design and the arts in supporting the psycho-motor rehabilitation of children with special needs. Through a multidisciplinary perspective, it highlights how principles of innovative design can create interactive tools and environments that contribute to enhancing the child’s autonomy and motor and cognitive development.

It also addresses therapeutic arts, such as music, visual arts, and puppet theater, as supportive means that help foster emotional expression, improve fine motor skills, and enhance attention. These arts, through their interaction with the body and emotions, stimulate children’s engagement in the therapeutic process.

In conclusion, the article presents models that demonstrate the effectiveness of integrating art and design in therapeutic settings, emphasizing the importance of this integrative approach in improving the quality of care and opening new horizons in the fields of health, design, and special education.
